desertdog Report post Posted March 18, 2009 Well I can say with out a doubt that Javelinas do eat meat. I watched a pack of them eat my moms dog one night. She let the little thing out to go to the bathroom and the were on her dog faster that you can say dog food. I know that sounds like a tall tale but its a true story. Sad story but true. As far as Ferrell hogs or Russian wild bores all I know is I have lived in 36A and 36C all my live, go bird hunting, yote callen, deer hunting in these 2 units every year. I have never seen one in all my time there. I am not saying they are not there but if they are they are very rare. I think that is what makes Ernesto's find so interesting. AGREED!! there are alot of guys on here that have hunted more years than I have in any of the 36's, but I'll be in the top runnings of actual TIME spent down there.. Ive NEVER even seen anything remotely coming close to hogs or even sign of them.. and I was raised where the smeely buggers are EVERYWHERE!!! Might have been 1 or 2 kicked out of a trailer down there a time or 2, but there aint a hog anywhere to be found down there.. Should you find a true wild/feral hog dwon there, I'll be using you to fill out my desert bighorn app. this year..so your luck rubs off on me!
