GameHauler Report post Posted February 10, 2009 Hey Guys, Are there any new and improved leather boot treatments out there. With all this snow my boots have been put to the test the last few days. They have done well but just wondering if someone has found something better. Thanks PS: treatment for Cortex is also welcome.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted February 11, 2009 I have always used LP Obernauffs (or how ever you spell it) and have had great success. when I sent my boots back to Danner to have them re-soled they told me the leather was in perfect condition and asked what I used to condition the leather

hoghntr Report post Posted February 25, 2009 i use something called nature seal. it is a product made by VASQUE, vasque is a part of red wing. its either a waxy or clear bluish product, i use the liquid/clear greenish blu product which is now scent free. i wear size 14 so i buy it buy the gallon PLUS I END UP CLEANING FRIENDS BOOTS LIKE BOWHUNTER4LIFE.and it lasts forever. gallon is over hundred bucks i order from red wing at 59th av and bell?? I MANAGED A POPULAR OUTDOORS BACK IN THE DAYS AND THEN A RED WING BOOT STORE ON 32ND ST AND BELL, COMBINED PROBABLY 8 YEARS OF WORKING WITH BOOT LEATHER EVERY STINKIN DAY. TRY SMALL BOTTLE NATURE SEAL, WHEN YOU LIKE IT BUY GALLON AND CLEAN AND CONDITION AFTER EVERY SEASON. DO NOT LET MUD SIT ON BOOTS. GOOD LUCK.
Red Rabbit Report post Posted February 25, 2009 I have usually melted in Sno-Seal with a hair drier. A friend in Alaska recommends straight beeswax, better than sno-seal.
