firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted June 27 I've used one in particular, they've been good to me but it seems every time I take it, it has to return with some other issue. Preferably somebody on the northwest side of Tucson so I don't have to go get the trailer and drag it all over the place? Mine has a coolant issue now. I'm even okay with a shade tree mechanic who knows what they're doing and will charge a fair price. In fact I actually kind of prefer that. I have a guy that I like to use but he's always so busy and said it's a one-man-show he's always booked out pretty far. We have a trip at the end of July to the mountains so I would like it back well before then
Sky Island junkie Report post Posted June 27 One off road. I haven’t trusted an atv mechanic in a long time like I do Matt. Not sure if they’re too far for you
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted June 29 Never mind. It turns out, the water pump/cooling system works best when all hoses are attached.
bigorange Report post Posted June 29 At least it was an easy fix.
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted June 29 Well, maybe. I'm wondering why it popped off. Did it come lose and just needed reattached and tightened? Or, did pressure from a failed thermostat cause it to go? Either way, I have it reattached and will work on the thermostat this morning. I have a new one on the bench and I will swap them out. Sky Island junkie Report post Posted June 29 Yeah if it blew off I’d say you’re overheating for some reason. Good time to flush your cooling system too. Make sure your fan is working too. Throw your old thermostat in hot water to test it so you’ll know if that’s what it was
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted June 29 Over heating has never been an issue before. The engine is a recent rebuild with brand new fluid only one 170 miles ago. It needs coolant anyways so I'll be adding fresh fluid.
