My Dad and Grandad in Wyoming. Grandad was in charge of POW camp there. Dad was about to ship out. He was D-Day +13.

I wish I had pictures of my grandfather who received a Bronze Star as a private during WWII but I don't. This will do. AATW!

Interesting, I did not even know pow's were brought stateside. Especially deep into the country .  Makes sense I guess just never thought about it or heard about it.

Good genes right there.  I look at that dude and don't see a 17 yo kid.

Papago Park in Phoenix was a German pow camp

Lol I had to look more closely. Then he looked like a kid, buck teeth and acne.

I have all my grandfather's pictures from around the world during the war. I wish he was still around. He drank himself to death by the time I was 9.

There was also a POW camp for German prisoners on the N. side of town of Florence - S. bank of the Gila River I believe, but could be N. bank.
