bowhuntinmaniac Report post Posted February 13, 2005 The Arizona Bowhunters Association is hosting it's 26th annual awards banquet on March 5th at the Phoenix Mtn. Preserve Reception Center. We have taken the entire facility again this year so we can seat around 350 people. We recieved the Special Black Bear tag and the Special Javelina tag from the Game and Fish Commission this year for auction. The bear tag is good state wide and runs from March 19th, two weeks after the banquet, thru Dec 31st. Wow.... Jay McAninch is our guest speaker,"Who"? Jay is President of Archery Trade Association, Bowhunting Preservation Alliance and Arrowsport. The ATA just donated $15,000.00 to the Arizona Game and Fish to purchase bows for the "Archey in Schools Program". Jay is probably the most influential lobbist in the nation for bowhunting and archery. He lives in Washington DC area and rubs shoulder with the "President" on occasion, as a matter of fact, he attended the Presidential Ball. The point of all this? He has some very important statistics to share with us as hunters. The USHS has decided that the number one thing on their agenda is to "outlaw bowhunting nation wide", the Bowhunting Preservation Alliance has made stopping that from happening their number one agenda. They need our help, you can help by attending the banquet and hearing what he has to say and then sharing it with others. Dick King Banquet Chairman again! 602-989-5484 if you want more info. This is a very fun banquet where the wives and kids are welcome and have their own auctions and raffles. And, it is a great organization to support.
