Definitely a ton less than In the past.

wildwoody Report post Posted June 4 7 hours ago, Coues247 said: There are 0 horses in 3a. Also, there's nowhere to get away from roads in 3c, they're everywhere. This is no offense to the bull you killed last year, but I think when most people think of good elk hunting they are thinking of bulls over 300". Plenty of units you can go can find an elk and kill it. What no horses in 3A. Please explain. I have bad eyes and I see them??

I'll say it again. 3a does not have any horses and therefore you couldn't see them with your eyes, because they aren't there. I'm assuming you think 3a is the part of 3c that is north of 260. 3a doesn't start until north of hwy 277.

PineCountryHunter Report post Posted June 5 The horses are definitely a huge problem and something will eventually have to be done about them. There are still quite a few really good bulls wondering around the unit. Put in the time and effort and hopefully you will get a chance to put an arrow in one. I will really hit the scouting hard for this hunt mid July and put in several weekends and miles on the boots. Luckily i know this unit very well from past elk and deer hunts so I am pretty confident going in.

wildwoody Report post Posted June 6 Yes there is , I saw a guy riding one thru there with my on eyes. I was mistaken. Thank you the correction. Shoot them in the face. They wipe them out in unit
junior71 Report post Posted June 6 Just read an article about the Apache-Sitgreaves NF round up. They have caught a few and auctioned some. Just doesn't sound like they are making much progress. They doubt they are keeping up with the annual birth rate.
