07Guardian Report post Posted May 24 Been shooting slick trick standards for about 10 years. Been through 3 different bow setups and they have always impacted and grouped exactly like field points. 1 deer, 7 or 8 pigs, two bull elk and two cow elk. All pass through shots. One bull was quartering away-arrow exited through shoulder blade. 450 grains around 280fps on the elk. Down side on elk for me has been very little blood exiting the elk. Plus side is all but one died in sght from one shot. The one I didn't see drop was because she ran over the berm of the tank I was sitting....she was dead under 50 yards from the shot. My son and a buddy use the magnums and they definitely make bigger holes. My advice would be to get yourself some magnums. If they tune good, stock up on them and fill the freezer! If your set up is finicky with fixed blades then try standards.
