Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted January 31, 2009 Well if that ain't the "Pot calling the Kettle Black"!!!! Or did I just misunderstand what that article said??? The Eastman's have made how much from the comercialization of wildlife???? They just made a huge broad sword cut at a couple of tags (hunts) per year that generate more dollars than all the other general tags/hunts do!! Amazing! What a Self-righteous ... .. . ..... well you know the rest!!!! I hope that many of you will do what I intend to do from here on..... Boycott anything that has to do with an Eastman enterprise..... and when the ISE show comes here I will state my point in person! Talk about a slap in the face! He made me feel like a dirt bag and I will never be able to afford one of those tags, but I applaud those that do choose to spend those much needed dollars on wildlife!! wetmule Report post Posted February 1, 2009 I totally agree Gino. I will add that those magazines I'm talkin Trophy hunter, Eastmans, Muley Crazy etc. are the worst thing that ever happened to hunting period, IMO, far worse than any auction tag or landowner tag. What do these magazines give back to habitat and the wildlife they exploit. You have alot of guys that just want to see their picture on the cover and in its pages and all the competitive and dark BS that ensues with that pusuit. Send me your stories and pics of giant bucks & bulls and we'll send you a coffee mug or a ball cap with our logo on it. Hey its free enterprise and good for them but I don't have to like it or support them and I don't. "Pot calling the Kettle black" is the perfect phrase for what that "Guy" just did, I think he's a perfect example of what it known as a hippocrit.
.270 Report post Posted February 2, 2009 ok, i'll take the "pro" side in the debate. i don't think auction tags do enough good to make up for the bad they do. the recent fiasco in utah and the subdivision bull in Az. are 2 good points for my arguement. there was another fairly negative deal in nevada that involved some o' the same guys in the utah deal. i don't think paying a buncha folks to watch an animal and then flying in on a jet and getting out and shooting it is hunting. and hunting is what is supposed to take place. a guy paying a guide to take him hunting is a good thing. this other stuff ain't. as far as hypocrisy, it seems to me that the eastmans do a lot of just hunting on their own. i know one thing, their stand is gonna make a lotta guys howl. oh well, mark me down for being against any and all auction tags. except for javelina. take the auction tags and raffle em off. the raffle tags generally make more money anyway, and anyone is eligible.
