buckshotaz Report post Posted April 22 I have (had) a Caldwell chronograph, and I was out shooting today. I was in the process of squeezing the trigger when a gust of wind blew the chronograph, turning it just right so when the round went off, I center punched the rod that holds the sunshade. I tried to order a new one, but they are not available at this time. I was wondering if anyone happened to have a broken Caldwell sitting around that I could buy for parts?

AzDiamondHeat Report post Posted April 23 just a public service announcement.... those bamboo fondue skewers make great replacements for the metal rods. easier to replace when shot too. experience is a great teacher... lol
Fern Report post Posted April 23 Second the bamboo skewers idea. Cheap and works
yotebuster Report post Posted April 23 I’ve got a beta chrony sitting around. They’re real close to useless to me after using a labradar and a Garmin. Seemed like they were finicky as heck to have the lighting just right.

JSR Report post Posted April 23 2 hours ago, maximus said: how do you like the garmin? Its way easier to use compared to the Magnetospeed and the chronoy's and the data stores to your phone. the tradeoff is the price though.
fatbastard Report post Posted April 24 Honestly, I don't know any serious shooter, handloader ,or reloader that hasn't executed a chrono. They do a dangerous job as we all know. At least it wasn't a buddy with an apple on his head. Congratulations are in order! You have completed one of the required missions to join an elite group of enthusiasts.
