PhxDT Report post Posted April 12 I was fishing this morning and ran into a guy who does this. He's making it his mission to take out as much of the invasive species as possible, which is great to hear. Is anyone else doing this? I am thinking about giving it a try. GreyGhost85 Report post Posted April 12 I used to do it quite a bit like 20 years ago. Speared a bunch of carp and suckers. It was a lot of fun. You’d be amazed how many beer cans are in the river. They look like they’re 10’ deep in some of the spots they collect
PRDATR Report post Posted April 13 There was a CWT Member years ago that did that. Mostly lakes IIRC.
trphyhntr Report post Posted April 13 I didn’t know common carp were an invasive species, or maybe I did I’ve just accepted them. Let’s go to pleasant and shoot some fish. Maybe get something edible
PhxDT Report post Posted April 13 hey, I am in. Would be a ton of fun. When is the visibility the best at lake pleasant? Been wanting to get my scuba license too, maybe a good motivation to smack out some invasive species and have fun at the same time.

Maybe get something edible also, I was told the asian carp was introduced into the canals here and somehow got into salt river.

Probably in the middle of winter when there’s the least algae. But looks pretty clear right now, for a lake
