ctafoya Report post Posted April 9, 2024 I think shooting that much is counter productive, but if you have the resources I guess go for it. Rifle Nodes: How You’ve Been Wasting Your Time and Money on Load Development (msn.com)
JSR Report post Posted April 9, 2024 As a hunter the only thing I really care about is the first shot. Maybe the second also. I think I would be better off shooting one shot at the target every day with a clean cold bore than 25 shots on the same day.
yotebuster Report post Posted April 9, 2024 Interesting and probably true. I’ve built loads around a 5 shot group that was .4 moa only to shoot it a month later and it’s 1.1 moa so I do agree with what they’re saying. I build all my loads based on ES of velocity. That’s the one they left out that REALLY matters. A 1 moa rifle with an ES of 7 fps is much much better at 1000 yards then a 0.25 moa rifle with an ES of 30 fps. Viper Report post Posted April 13, 2024 I watched that Hornady episode the other day. Very interesting and makes sense. I've been spinning my wheels with my latest load development. I may have to change my strategy.
