muleybull Report post Posted January 27, 2009 Anyone have any info on a 1 day coyote contest thats this saturday? From what I know its in Ash Fork, and its supposed to take the place of the Willets hunt that was north of Williams until it was canceled this year. I think its $50 per team. Anyone have any info? I know theres one by Kingman, but thats a different one.

muleybull Report post Posted January 27, 2009 Heres what I do know now. The Willets contest held north of Williams is canceled because Cookie Willet broke his hip. But it sounds like hes doing OK overall. This hunt thats going to be held in Ash Fork is kind of a last minute thing that started as a benefit for a very popular local kid that was a tough competitor in the Willet contest. He was killed in CA not long ago, 31 years old. It was originally just some guys getting together in his behalf. Half the money was going to this guys very young boy, the rest to the winner. Word got around and lots of people became interested. It even sounds like Cookie Willets going to help these guys out, and they are going to try to make it a more organized, yearly thing after this year. But how do we sign up. If I find more info, I'll post.............
Rio Report post Posted January 27, 2009 Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but there was a post a while back (maybe a week or more) about a hunt up around kingman, the title of the post was "1st Annual Calling for a Cause Hunt", it had contact information in it, and I believe it's this weekend. CEI Report post Posted January 28, 2009 They are two different hunts. I am not sure who you contact to get in the 1 day Ash Fork or Williams hunt, but I know that they are going to have a check in on Saturday night. There are a few teams that are hunting both hunts (the hunt around Kingman is not a mandatory physical check in on Saturday but you have to at least call in by phone before 8 PM). I also know you can physically check in at any time on Sunday before 4 PM. If you want anymore information about the hunt (Calling for a Cause) held just outside of Kingman let me know because I have that information. The facilitators of the Calling for a Cause hunt have no problem with people hunting both. The Calling for the Cause hunt was put together because they wanted to put on a hunt where the money went to a good cause for (outdoorsmen in need) but they also wanted people to get reconized for their calling accomplishments.
