Time for a new bow

Recommended Posts

Buy a new Mathews, Bowtech, PSE, and you wont be disappointed whatsoever. These companies kick butt with some seriously great offerings. I am partial to Mathews myself only because mine has never done wrong by me. I have seen some high dollar hoyts have problems so I won't add them to the list.

I would buy and shoot anything from those those three companies. Plus you can get a one or two year old bow for hundreds less if you look around.

Hey Tio go to www.pse-archery.com and you will see the new bowmaddness bows. Or if you are not going to get a pse try a mathews like everyone is saying but the only true test of which bow is better is you shooting them yourself. There is nothing better than self experience.

I am getting a Mission. I have shot hoyt for ever, but I am wanting a newer shorter bow. The Mission is made by mathews but half the price. They have the same limbs, and cam as the Mathews. Very smooth bow. I also like the new PSE bows, but that is not true that you can shoot 1 pin out to 40 yds accurately with the new x-force. At leaste not with any normal weight arrow and 100 grain head at 70 lbs. But they are dang nice bows.

Headache

Could you be a little more specific on the problems with the high dollar Hoyts? IMO And its just that my opinion but I have not seen problems with Hoyt that could ever stack up to the pile of limbs that have been replaced on Bowtech and the PSE's of the past. And before I get blasted for the limb thing I know there are a ton of guys that have not had a problem with there bows I'm just saying if you look at the other sites like AT and others there just seems to be more of a problem with some companies more than others. Compared to the number of bows sold the number of bows with problems is small but anything can happen with any bow no mater who makes it.

Coocoo,

Hit the shops shoot them all and find what you like. There is not a bow company out there that makes a bad bow. But there are bow companies that make bows that you will not like. For what ever reason that's just the way it is. When you find the right one only you will know. Well we will know to because you will tell us. :P I have shot them all and they are all great bows but there is just somethings you will not like grip, shock speed or what ever it may be.

P.S. Maybe you should ask the question what would be your 2nd choice if you could not shoot the bow you shoot. Mine would be Bowtech or Mathews

Maybe i should open this as a new thread... but I was wondering what everyone thinks about Mathews going to dual cam. It seems all other bows are dual cam...ok well cam and a half but same thing right. If they arent perfectly tuned then you could run into problems. That is what I think is so great about the solo cam from mathews at now 340 fps. But my question is do you think they will adventually do away with the solocam and move to the dual cam. Is that going to be the direction of all the future bows? Almost seems like a repeat in the cycle of compund bows. Everything was dual cam... then went to solo cam then parallel limbs then now it seems maybe back to dual cam. Im just wondering if i should wait another year before I make an investment and see what they come out with next year. I have the switchback and I feel pretty accurate with it even out to 100 yards.. but i wouldnt mind gaining some speed.

The cam and a 1/2 is different than a dual cam bow.

The cam and a 1/2 is slaved together which the dual cam is not. I prefer shooting a cam and a 1/2 over a single cam bow any day of the week. I feel that its a better set up

Has anyone shot the Matthews Monster or Monster XLR8? If so, how does it compare to the X-Force? They appear to be very similar in design and I have shot the X-Force but have a problem with the thin grip. Any thoughts or opinions?
