lionhunter Report post Posted January 24, 2009 I need some input as to what bullet I should reload in a 30 cal. rifle. Here is my dellema; I want to reload 30-06, 300 Win. mag and 300 wsm. (I have several hundred empty brass of each). I want to load one bullet that will work well in all applications. (I realize I should experiement with different loads, different bullets and see what works best in each gun.) I am looking for an all around hunting bullet. I am considering The Berger vld, the CT silver-tip,and the Nosler Accu-bond. Give me some input .................................. Thanks, Whitey

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 24, 2009 If you want one bullet for everything IMHO, I would look at the 168 TTSX very closely.
Coues Sniper Report post Posted January 24, 2009 The accubond is a great all around hunting bullet. If you're looking for a longrange load, the Bergers are great too. However, I'm going to disagree with Mike on the 168's and say 180 grains or better on the Bergers. I know he's taken elk with them, but that's just too small of a bullet for me on an animal that big. They'd have a better BC to buck the wind and hold energy as well. I'd even look at the 190's. FWIW, I'm going to play with the 210 Bergers and 208 A-Max's in my 300 RUM this spring. Hooked_on_Coues Report post Posted January 25, 2009 Try scirrocco, accubond, ttsx and interbond. Use what shoots the best. I am going back to shooting a Hornady Interlock BTSP. They work great. I have been caught up in the fancy tip trend and realized my old bullets never failed and shoot just as well for half the cost...
