Did my deer meat go bad?

Recommended Posts

Ernetesto that is funny! Probably true for most but I have an iron gut. I'll eat week and a half old leftovers, love my meat so bloody it still moo's, I eat raw sushi, oysters, clams. I'll throw my Javelina meat right on the foreman with just a little seasoned salt. I honestly won't get sick unless it is actually bad. I will eat and enjoy the meat, I can't phyche myself out like that even if I wanted to..... Thank goodness.

NRS it actually went throught the ribcage splitting a rib and came out just above the brisket, windpipe area. May have just been an artery but I believe I nicked the close lung. I had some bubbles in the blood and on my arrow. That is an excellent point about the meat aging.

I have had the same experience with backstraps on fresh deer. Not always but has happened and also to others I have taked to. I would say that the backstraps have nothing to do with the meat being good or not from my experience. Good luck and congrats on sticking with it and finding your buck.
