WHT_MTNMAN Report post Posted January 21, 2009 You know I completly understand. In the last week I could have killed 3 smallish bucks (1 coues and 2 mulies)I would have easily been happy with in Dec. but now that it is a new year the big ones are just out of reach....so far. Good luck shooting that guy, looks like a good buck.

Mr. Jonathan Report post Posted January 21, 2009 It's ok....it's just a mulie!! Amanda Hey, now that's just mean! They are still my first love in hunting, even if I'm having an affair with coues right now...
CouesKilla Report post Posted January 21, 2009 That is a good one. If you would like I can go out with you be the guy that doesn't get him, that way you can be the guy that does get him. I'm really good at being the guy that doesn't get them. Some friendly advice: (please disregard if you have killed many large bucks in your life) go out and practice shooting with the image of that guy in your head walking towards you at 40 yards. I'm working on a buck of equal magnitude and am having major buck fever issues when I get to within 100 yards of him. I guess it's all part of the hunt when you are going for monsters like this. mattobertin Report post Posted January 21, 2009 everything happens for a reason! You just need to figure out what that reason is! That is a heck of a nice buck, i can see where the frustration would come in not being able to stick an arrow in him!

Coues Sniper Report post Posted January 21, 2009 I'll help you put this back in perspective... I live in Nevada. WE don't have over the counter archery tags. Matter of fact, I draw an archery tag about every 3rd year. So while you're out putting stalks on bucks in your backyard and getting busted, I'm sitting at home with bonus points looking at posts with you complaining about your luck wishing i could be hunting. Seems you're luckier than you think Oh and Amanda - +
coues hunter Report post Posted February 7, 2009 Don't sweat it Eric. It's going to happen soon enough. In the meantime I think some Jackrabits are going down!
