Couzer Report post Posted December 10, 2023 Good thread Max, i'll be doing the same here in the next few months. I think your spot on using the 143 ELD-X.

10Turkeys Report post Posted December 10, 2023 I had pretty good results using a max load of H-4350. I had one rifle that shot IMR-4350 a tad better than the H.
CouesPursuit Report post Posted December 10, 2023 I have posted this before but I have a 6.5CM with a 20" barrel shooting 143gr ELD-X that liked 42.0 gr of H4350 at 1MOA and loved 45.0gr of Superformance at ~.5MOA with an extra 40-50 FPS. I understand the difference in temp sensitivity but I shoot the load in circumstances that it should never matter. I get 2750 FPS. Lapua brass, CCI 450. Note these are over book max, tested in my rifle.
L Cazador Report post Posted December 10, 2023 Two Indians tracking obliviously wounded deer in snow shot by another hunter. One says " deer hit but will live". Other one says "how know"? The other responds " found 6.5 Creedmoor case in snow"! LOL!!🤣

Loaded 3 test rounds with h4350 and the eldx 40.5. 41. 41.5 all 3 shot big holes. Slight pressure signs at 41.5 and only an average of 15 fps faster so stuck to the 41 gr at .005 off. 2660 fps average 22” barrel

L Cazador Report post Posted December 10, 2023 11 hours ago, maximus said: did they shot him in the leg from 995 yards? Seriously speaking the ranges at which people are shooting game with a 6.5 Creed are pretty ridiculous. Shooting a 140grain in a 20" barrel is a challenge. Slower powders like H4350 are more efficient in barrel lengths of 24-26 inches. Shooting in shorter barrel lengths increases muzzle blast and extreme spreads with little advantage over a 130 grain bullet. I've been shooting the 6.5 since it came out at paper targets not game. It's a great cartridge with 130 grain bullets
