Hunter finds corpse

Recommended Posts

Just last week there was something on the news here in Tucson about the archery hunter killed in 34a. There was a camp not to far from his that was apparently abandoned around the time of the murder (tent, sleeping bags, hiking boots, and a lot of other stuff that people wouldn't normally leave behind). They think that there is some kind of link with the crime so they showed a video of the campsite and a lot of the abandoned eqiupment to see if anyone in the public would recognize anything. Hopefully they can link some of the stuff to the store that it was bought at or something. I think that other than that their case has pretty much gone cold.

i dont really have a story about this and i hope i never do. a guy that i want with's dad back in the day had to go out into 34a and actualy find a hunter. the hunter was one of his friends who was kind of high in age. he eventually found the man, laying on a 100" 3x3 apperently he had had a heart attack while taking a nap from packing out his deer. he had 4 miles to go till their usual camp ground.

Sad to die while harvesting such a nice animal, but you have to guess he "went", dong something he liked.

I hope they eventually find the killer{s} of that hunter!

Oh my gosh these stories are nuts! One of these days my turn to find a body is coming up. Just this past fall I told a friend where to go check for elk in 19A. He was checking a tank for tracks then walked out to the edge of the rim where he spotted a skull. Thinking it was a bear or lion he cruised over and grabbed it. It turned out to be a bleached out human skull. He got looking around and found a bunch more bones then got the crap out of there. He called the Sherrif's office and returned and hiked some fat investigator clear into this spot where they could do their investigation. He said he was hurting pretty good when he got there(this is early Sept). Pretty nuts! I bet I've walked w/in 50 yards of where he found it several times.

Another story is a friend of mine was hiking out of a HUGE canyon here in 6A looking for elk antlers when he smelled something dead. He got the wind just right and started to fight the brush uphill towards it. He finally spotted a camo jacket hanging in a tree. He told me he hoped the ol boy who the jacket belonged to had a good rifle too. Well when he finally got there what he smelled was a rotten elk carcass and the dude just forgot his jacket in the tree. He was pretty nervous for a bit there.

A friend of mine that works for the Sherrif's office here in Yavapai Cty told me that a whitetail hunter off of the Dugas road, here in unit 21 several yrs ago, looked off a bluff he was glassing from and spotted some black plastic wrapped up in electrical cord. It ended up being two naked women that had been murdered, encased in the stuff and thrown over the cliff to rot. There's some real sicko's out there. He also told me that any exit north of Phoenix towards Camp Verde is not a place to pull over and sleep or pee after dark. Every murdering sicko looking to dump a body from Phx heads north. You want to find a body, he told me, just start looking around the exits, especially Bloody Basin and Badger Spgs exits. No thanks.

Hey Fellow hunters,

just wanted to let you know a good buddy of mine found a corpse over by Willow Springs. Apparently she was murdered pending an autopsy. I always had an inclination that something like this would happen to me, have any of you hunters ever had the same inclination????

I found a skeleton scattered about in the West Silverbells (37A) during the January '04 archery season. Apparently the Pinal County sheriff's office recieves dozens of calls each year. Most are illegal immigration deaths. The sheriff's office asked me on the phone how I was certain it was human. I stated there were several gold teeth. He then asked me if I pocketed the teeth

DUDE: Don't tell me that the teeth fit and you kept them! Just kidding, the southern part of 37a can get pretty nasty I've hunted down there a few times but I couldn't quit looking over my shoulder while I was out there so I try not to hunt there during archery season.
