Arizonabowhunter Report post Posted January 31, 2005 Hey Fellow hunters, just wanted to let you know a good buddy of mine found a corpse over by Willow Springs. Apparently she was murdered pending an autopsy. I always had an inclination that something like this would happen to me, have any of you hunters ever had the same inclination???? az4life Report post Posted February 1, 2005 AZbowhunter Never happened to me, but a friend dicovered a body on the edge of the salt river above Granite reef dam while he was fishing. I agree, I never would want to find a body while hunting, hiking or anything... I recall someone posting about finding one in a southern unit a few months ago. If yhou spend enough time in the wild, you likely will discover some bizaarre things. Just remember, you are in the area near where something like this happened, and for the difference of a few minutes, hours, days or weeks, you oculd come into contact with the perpetrator. bowhuntinmaniac Report post Posted February 2, 2005 My best friend and I found a dead woman when I was 15. We used to ride bicycles from town to town. Well, one Saturday we were riding and looked down as we passed and saw her dead by the highway. She was stripped naked and lying face down. She and her dog had been strangled. I have seen a few dead people in car wrecks and street bike wrecks and will still see them in my mind every once in a while. That is why I fill for our military and police personel the most is they see it every day and have to live with it. They are truly heros for doing there duty. I have not talked to my buddy on this but he works for my brother, he's an electrician. My brother says he is taking it pretty good. I am sure he thinks about what he saw quite often. bowhuntinmaniac, I feel for you, I am sure as time goes by it starts to heal ever so slowly. At what age did you see this??? Avion Report post Posted February 3, 2005 On mothers day 2001 while on our way to our turkey spot south of Williams we came upon a young man who split a friends car around a pine tree. On fire, just happened. car parts and child car seats all over the road. Horrible sight. I always say a little prayer for his mother on mothers day. It is an image in my mind I will never forget. az4life Report post Posted February 3, 2005 Death is hard ot deal with in most any circumstances I agree. Violence involved in death is especially hard on anyone! The fact that it affects us so much, is one more thing that sets humanity apart from the other creatures on the planet. The military and law enforcement deserve huge credit and thanks from every one of us! Dealing with the parts of life most of us will never know. I too have wondered about the hunter murdered down south last year. anyone have info about the investigation? All f these things, Sets me in mind of an old saying. Manamal Report post Posted February 3, 2005 On December 23, 2003 I was north of Phoenix practicing with my bow in a spot I had been going to for a few years. I had a couple of bales of straw set up at different yardages. After the third round of shooting I was walking to the straw to get my arrows when I saw human legs among a tangle of mesquite. My first thought was some drunk homeless guy just needed a place to sleep it off. As I got closer I still didn't see any blood so I whacked him in the hand a couple times with an arrow and got no response. He was laying face down, and when I turned him over it was apparent he had been murdered. I left to call the Sherrifs office. I had forgotten my cell phone so I went to my parents house that was about 15 minutes closer than my place. I made a report on the phone and met a deputy at the scene. For anyone who is unlucky enough to find a dead body DO NOT move the body, if even to determine if it is dead or not. If you do there will be ALOT of questions. BASS Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I just found out that the guy on San Carlos that was shot by his son while Elk hunting was known by my grandfather It just randomly came up today when I got my Elk back. I guess the poor son is doing really bad, and is being monitored around the clock for suicide attempts. I also heard that the funneral was one of the biggest in the history of the Res. A long time ago I was sitting in class when a guy in camo head to toe came flying in the door. It was the teachers husband, and he was as white as a sheet. He was hunting Four Peaks for Javilina, and near the base of one of the peaks he found a man shot once in the head. His credit cards, and drivers license were laid out in front of him, and a .38 revolver near his hand. Later on we learned that he had fallen while hiking, and had broke a bunch of bones including his entire legs, right arm, and about four ribs. He sat there for a couple of days until his supplies were gone, then put one in his head. Very sad. I also wonder about what is in those hole mines that are all over this state. You know the ones that are about a million feet deep, and about ten foot wide. It seems like 99% of the ones I find are on a steep hills, or covered by trees. COUESAZ Report post Posted February 3, 2005 I was out shooting a few years back and saw a body across the canyon so I hiked an hour over there to see what was up and it was a pair of pants and a shirt stuffed with weeds.
