elkhunter Report post Posted January 6, 2009 My family and I been out hunting pretty much since the start of the season. This year's pretty rough with the 3-4ft tall grass making it hard to find pigs. I will skip the first few days of hunting for my sister to write up about. With my dad at work today, I headed out even though the weather was gonna be crappy...rain. Right in on about 8am I located a herd I had scouted and was on em. I got up to where I last saw them but they had moved a bit and were below and behind me....downwind, tried to walk right at em for a shot but at 14 yds they winded me as expected. Later on the day ohh say about 1'0 clock I located a herd, possibly a herd I have never seen before (always love finding new herds where I grew up). I cut the 3/4 mile distance and perched on a ridge 200 yds above em. I could not come up with a game plan, they were in a rough spot and the wind would not let me get close quietly. Luckily they went down to the wash and bedded down. I made my way to 21 yards from the tree they bedded under. I sat on my knees for 3 hours (streching my legs and foot once in a while, plus I had to pee real bad so that made it difficult), right about 5'0 clock they got up and next thing you know I had an 8 yard shot, pig was facing me slightly quartering, arrow went in on the front shoulder and exit out the stomach, he did a 5 yard death run and expired. Yes I did wear camo this time, I had to...it was pretty cold out there

elkhunter Report post Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks for the comments guys, sometimes I feel they should be able to see me but once you don't move....they don't have a clue Case- I used slicks this time, those wac-ems seem to fall apart when I shoot past 35 yards, they get loose and a blade will fall off so I switched to a version of locked blades

Do you mean in the animal? I have never shot an animal with mine, but my Block out to 60 yards and they always seem to do fine. I agree that they could use a little better assembly style, but man do they fly sweet from my rig!
