Looks like a Remington Rolling block, hard to tell from the picture if its a #1 or a #5...they were also produced around the world under license from Remington.... 😉

Correct. The rifle that saved Remington after the Civil War. I believe this was made overseas as it was made in 45-70 and I don't believe they were built domestically in that caliber.  At least not built for Uncle Sam.

Here's an obvious clone. The Texas Rangers approached Colt, wanted a revolver capable of killing man or horse at 50 yards, one shot.

They got this pistol capable of killing man or horse at 100 yards

Mr. Corkran met his demise due to a Colts Walker blowing up in his hand. Name the place of said incident and movie.

If your like me, you have probably seen the movie at least 5 times. Bill tells the story to Mr. Beauchamp because he was there when "Two Gun" Corky Corkran met his fate.

Lonesome Dove? I.know a lot of them did blow up due to 19th century metallurgy and also panicked combatants loading the conicals backwards.
