CatfishKev Report post Posted September 10, 2023 I got Mystery ranch. Any pack that can detach with a meat shelf basically. Kifaru, kuiu, mystery ranch are all popular choices. I went with a "backpacking" style mystery ranch. Was cheaper then the hunting version. Keep an eye on camofire, Sierra trading Post etc.

Eli Report post Posted September 12, 2023 Mystery ranch has been my go to. Heavier pack than some other options but the shelf handles loads well
QCwtAddict Report post Posted September 13, 2023 I've had an exo for a few years and really like it but if I was going to try a new pack I'd probably get a kifaru. Had a mystery ranch and wasn't too impressed, had an eberlestock but it was too heavy, and used an outdoorsmans optics hunter for a few years but it wasn't comfortable when packing elk quarters. HuntHarder Report post Posted September 15, 2023 Kifaru frame and whatever bag suits your needs. I've been using my Stryker XL most lately. 5+ night pack ins to quick day trips, hauls meat fantastic and compresses down to nothing.
