Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Hey what are the SC tags going for now-days??? Also, can you DIY or do you have to hire a guide/have a Tribal member with you?
Hunting6 Report post Posted February 9, 2009 I am not sure what the prices are for this year (2009) I can tell you that depending on what tag you purchase determines if you are required to have a guide or not. You do not need a guide if you are hunting outside of the R-100 unit (coues deer). The rut hunt is more expensive than the November hunts. if you decide to go, get ready to see fewer deer than you might normally see in a southern unit. It is a tough place to hunt, but in my mind one of the most rugged and most beautiful places to see in Arizona. I believe that if you hunt the D-unit in November you do not need a guideeither , but would need one for the rut hunt.
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Will any trible member of the SC satisfy the "guide" requirement? I know a guy, he is a friend's cousin... and we have hunted together in 28/31, but he lives on the SC and is a member. That is why I asked.
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted February 9, 2009 Gino, They must be a registered guide. To get registered with the SCRWD they have to take the guide course. For a list of guides, visit the SCRWD website: http://www.scatrwd.com/ Amanda
Coues 'n' Sheep Report post Posted February 9, 2009 LOL!!! What luck! My buddy's cousin is on the list!!! Should have figured that, he is a dam good hunter.... best bear caller I have ever hunted with!! He kept a small bear within 15 yds of me for over 10 minutes, one time as I videoed after passing him with my bow!! Anyhow that was good to know.... Thanks Amanda! RoughCut Report post Posted February 18, 2009 Yeah I am thoroughly confused. Their website home says that they have not decided on dates or pricing or anything for 2009. What the heck? OK Nevermind they finally updated it last night I think. Tags on sale Monday.
