thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted July 31, 2023 I would go ask the Lake Mary Store. They are pretty helpful. I haven't been in a while but I have seen some great fish still being caught.
RNGRDOG Report post Posted July 31, 2023 Burn tandem willow blade spinnerbaits (or willow/Colorado combo) with 3"-5" swimbait trailers right on or just below the surface. Fast as you can reel and still keep it in the water. Create the surface wake. Around & over the weeds. Water from 1' - 5' deep. The smashes are intense! Like fishing topwater. A little wind helps. It's been a few weeks since I was there and it was a little slow then (in fact I've only had one 10 fish or more day this year), but that was before the monsoon storms started. The bite should have improved significantly, especially while the storms are building. I talked to two guys last time out that caught a couple decent largemouth too, something I've never done in 30 years of fishing that lake. Sorry, can't figure out how to rotate the pics.....

wildwoody Report post Posted July 31, 2023 Used to have great luck with the pick with an anchovy about a foot under a dobber in 2-6' of water. Please post want to take grandson up
Roofer Billy Report post Posted August 1, 2023 Crappie can be caught under a bobber and jig head . I've caught several there. Jerkbaits always work in bluegill or crawdad colors for pike and walleye.
ctafoya Report post Posted August 1, 2023 I used rooster tails for 5 minutes last weekend. Gave up and enjoyed the day with my dog. Water was very turbid.

oz31p Report post Posted August 3, 2023 If you’re going to go after Crappie with small jigs, under a bobber you’re gonna want to tip them with red worms

RNGRDOG Report post Posted August 4, 2023 Mechanic is right, don't worry about it. My Merc doesn't run for sh*t at high elevation either. I can get it on plane but it's a struggle and I've had lots of practice. Nice walleye.
