fatfootdoc Report post Posted January 24, 2005 so any of you NM natives (or transplants) want to give me any suggestions on where to go for pig in 23. Was hoping i would see some on the archery hunt but all I saw were deer( ), My son is starting to think that hunting is just walking around in the woods with a rifle and eating lots of vienna sausages! I dont need any honey holes, just some suggestions. Thanks guys AG

I think it may be just one herd though and the associated kicked out old boars that go with the herd. I would look lower in elevation, like around the Gila in the cactus. I know there are a ton along the Gila on the AZ side of the river. Good luck. Bret M.

crazyaboutcoues Report post Posted February 6, 2005 We went out yesterday and found two different groups. Unfortunatly we came home empty. One hunter missed about a 120 yard shot. Our next opportunity had the pigs coming in to the hunters from 200 yards to about 10 feet. For some reason there was some misscommunication, one hunter was waiting for the other shoot and vise-versa. They had to go back home after a few hours of hunting they had to take care of some business back home. It was an awesome morning for hunting. We had about three inches of fresh snow no wind and cloud cover. About 12:00pm is when the wind hit an made it a little miserable. I won't be able to go out this weekend either, but if you want to head out after work for a couple of hours we might get lucky.

bullwidgeon Report post Posted February 8, 2005 Probably a little late but the hogs would come out of those oak covered hills to the South of the windmill when I saw them. I hope you found some. Bret M.
