thunderbolt Report post Posted December 20, 2008 i found drops of blood on a deer trail that went about 5 yds. We searched the area really good for anything unusual but turned up nothing. it wasn't alot of blood, just a few drops here and there. so my question is.......... do does bleed when they go into heat ? the only reason we noticed the blood was because the blood really stuck out on the snow. mr.smith Report post Posted December 20, 2008 Could it be that the bleeding critter cut itself on the ice? I know dogs have "periods" not sure about does as they only come into estrus/heat seasonally and generally are always bred during that time. I imagine the plumbing still works the same though and if the blood you found was indeed uterean bleeding then said doe is beyond estrus and did not concieve. Seems an improbable scenario.
