Redman Report post Posted December 16, 2008 After much anticipation, the weather for opening weekend blew! Friday was not bad and Saturday morning was OK, but after that the weather made it almost impossible to hunt with a bow. For fun I would try to hold steady on a target and could not even hold it still. Would have been a great time to find a bedded buck with the wind making all the noise, but I had no luck. Anybody have luck? Redman
desertbowhunter Report post Posted December 16, 2008 Same kind of weekend for us. The weather sucked. We actually glassed up over 50 deer this weekend. We were seeing little bucks with the does. And they would not stop chasing them around. Its only a matter of time before the big boys start showing up!!!!

rabidApache Report post Posted December 16, 2008 It was the same deal out here on the Carlos rez too. Nice, Saturday AM spotted a 3X3 buck two ridges over in unitD. By the time we moved our glassN spot to get a better look he was gone. Then by 10AM wind from the SE. I don't mind wind but when it blows your tripod and bino set-up over it BAD. Sunday was a bust too.......rain, sleet, snow and wind on the Santa Terresas. But at least the Muleys and WT are ruttN bigtime on the Mountain.
DotShot Report post Posted December 16, 2008 Went down to 36C on Friday and Saturday, had a great time on Friday and saw quite a few deer, Saturday was horrid as the wind was relentless. Friday we saw about 40 deer all but one were mulies. THe one coues we did see showed up at our blind outa nowhere at 62 yards and i passed the shot to my hunting partner which he gladly accepted only to have his arrow deflect off of a branch he could not see, oh well was a rush none the less. Out aof all the deer we did see 4 were bucks one being the coues i mentioned previously (probably a low 80's buck) and 3 mulies one of which was a toad. You can bet i'll be back out on Friday!
