I was thinking about calling the DMV in Green Valley to see if they know anything about the sticker. As to the Coronado Forest restrictions, I'll have to check around and see what rears it's ugly head on that one.

I stopped at the Green Valley MVD today. They do not have the stickers yet, the lady said maybe on Friday. Also stopped by the big atv place on Ina road, they have none either. :(

Here's the skinny.

The tags will be $25 per vehicle. You can buy them online, at servicearizona.com, beginning January 1, 2009. You can get them in the DMV offices beginning January 2, 2009.

Here is the part that can be good or bad. The good is once you buy the sticker, you can register your vehicle for a $4 fee for the entire year. Where this could be crappy, is if you have already registered your vehicle just recently. According to DMV, you will NOT be issued any kind of refund if you try to re-register for the $4. The only way around this screw up is to sell the vehicle, like say to your wife. You can then get a plate credit since the vehicle is being sold. Then, re-register it for the $4.

If you have a vehicle that does not have a license plate, you MUST get a plate before you buy the sticker. I believe this is why they are offering the $4 registration, since they are forcing people to register the vehicle BEFORE they can purchase the OHV sticker.

From what I am being told, this new OHV sticker program WILL be enforced without warning.

I have done a ton of research on this, since it affects my family a lot. I have a Rhino, my wife has a dirtbike and my son has a quad.

I went to DMV and the only thing they know is that it will be effective starting January 2009. They have no other information and they dont know when they'll get it and they dont know how much it will cost either.

How much money you guys will be spending? how many quads or atv's you guys own?

I wanted to ride today, and the MVD lady said that as a holiday none of the rangers would be working????? I don't want to get a ticket or a big hassle, especially since I wanted to buy a sticker they did not have available yet.

I have one quad that is registered and street legal, but it still falls under the new OHV law.

One of my in-laws told me that the stickers were supposed to be available by third parties, aka, ATV dealers, but when I stopped by yesterday they were clueless about it.

They are available now at serviceaz.com. You won't get it in the mail for a few days but you can print the confirmation and carry that with you.

Thanks for the update Bro! I went online last night and they did not have it, but this morning they finally did. I paid for my sticker, and at least I have a receipt.

I just went to serviceaz.com and could not find nothing on atv tags. Can you please tell us or guide us through the steps?

Or of course.....I just wait for tomorrow and ask them again at the DMV.
