I have kind of a different question. What is the procedure one follows to boil the skull to have it have the bleached white effect?

Any pointers? Please I would like to try it on my lastest buck.

first you have to cut the lower jaw off. then try to get as much meat off from the skull as possible. also get the brain matter out. then it is just a matter of boiling it in a pot for about 4 hours. adding dish soap helps cut the grease.

 

you can also soak the skull in water for like a week and it will loosen everything up so you can get it off and has about the same effect as boiling.

 

you want to make sure you get all the brain matter out of the skull through the spinal cord hole as well as all the cartiledge out of the nasal cavity.

 

finally, go to a beauty supply store and buy some hair bleach. it costs about $8. mix the two compounds together and brush it onto the skull. dont get it on the antlers. let it sit in the sun for a couple of hours and then rinse it off with water.

 

you will be good to go.
