Browning'sCustomMeat Report post Posted December 8, 2008 Okay, so here is the story.....Opening morning was such great weather you could wear tank tops and flip flops!!! The Rim is out there somewhere. Looks like lake weather!! After the fog lifted we were sent off to chase a few elk....very pretty where we were, beautiful country! We were never able to get a shot off opening morning but had fun none the less. On Sunday, first thing, we found a bull in his bed and my bud Heath was off..... After a few hours we were back at camp enjoying the great achievement!! So here comes Monday, getting close to the end and I am thinking that I need to stop being so gosh darn picky. I have been passing bulls left and right, just thinking that the one I would want would poke his head out. So we leave to another spot and start glassing......and now we have cell service.....! So we found some bulls and needed to get a closer look so we were off on a little hike to see just how good the were way over there. As we reached the top we ran into fellow CWT.com'ers, khunter4life and palivs2hnt, found some bulls and still being picky offered them up to both. We got them set up and were able to take two bulls!! Great job guys!! Now, come Tuesday morning I went out with the mind set to kill out today...Here is what it looked like that morning. We left the point we were on and went to another, got there in time to rest my eyes a little. Around 3:30 we started seeing bulls again. Out one stepped, broken fifth...not mine....then 30 yds or so behind him out came the one I wanted. 480 yds with my 7mag...he bedded and then we watched him until dark. Rather than risk pushing him out or breaking on of our legs, we let him be and would come back in the morning. We set of about 7 AM and found soon after!! And then the work had begun. Thankfully I had a lot of help with me so we only had to make one trip. I had forgotten how heavy a head a cape were. All in all, this was one of the funnest hunts I have been on. Being around family and friends makes it that much better. Thanks to all who helped!!! -Jeremy-
