codyhuntsaz Report post Posted March 30, 2023 The shotgun I have has an HS Strut turkey choke in .695. Do I need a more constricted choke? Thinking I’d like to shoot 45 yards max. I’ll be shooting Winchester Longbeard XR 12 g 3” #5 shot. I’ll be patterning it soon and wondering if I should grab a tighter choke before I pattern it. IA Born Report post Posted April 1, 2023 If that's the HS Strut Undertaker, you'll be fine. I have that in my turkey gun (12g), my daughter's (20), my son's old youth gun (20g), and his new full-size turkey gun (12g) and it patterns everything excellently.

Big Tub Report post Posted April 2, 2023 You would be wise to pattern what you will use to know your maximum effective distance.
