Redman Report post Posted November 26, 2008 I tell you what... Bush has DISAPPEARED... Isn't he still the President???? He and Paulson should just resign now.... J You know Jamaro, I have my doubts about Obama, and I will wait before judging him.....I supported Bush....but you are absolutely correct, Bush has totally failed the American people, time and time again. I fell like he took my allegiance to the president for granted. I cannot believe our national debt has grown so much under Bush....I am worried about some of the talk about Obama and guns, etc. But the damage that has been done to our country in the past 8 years in incredible....I also know that one man did not do it all, but I would love to turn back the past 8 years and do it over again. Coues Krazy, how can anybody not want to change this path we are on, doubled our national debt in less than 10 years? Who is gonna pay for this? MidLifeHntr Report post Posted November 26, 2008 Our economy is a direct reflection of the morals and values our country embraces. We are a feel good society looking to feel good now with many people not taking responsibility for their own actions and words. We know what the problem is, yet we take no steps to correct it. Bush tried to "stimulate" the economy by giving everyone money. Problem was the big Wall Street Guys and CEO's kept taking millions of dollars from their companies even though they had knowledge of the dire financial situation most of them were in. They should all go to jail. If my company fails I fail. No one will be there to bail me out, nor would I want them to. I would accept responsibilty for my actions. Bush will be known as the lamest duck president we have ever had and I think he realizes it. This coming from a born, bred and die hard, Moderate Republican. I am willing to give the new President a chance..... can't be worse than the last eight years. Worried about gun bans, don't. Stock up now or wait for the black market. BTW, our economy is cyclical. We will rebound.
JMP Report post Posted November 26, 2008 i think it's funny that the stock market is the most oft referred to barometer of the economy. first comes inflation, then comes deflation and a complete destruction of the dollar. i say bring it on. we should have done away with the fiat dollar years ago, fiat currencies just don't work, the same as socialism just doesn't work. time to go back to precious metals as our currency and NO MORE CENTRAL BANKERS! and very little central government. hunt4horns Report post Posted November 26, 2008 Hand in there guys, we are all Americans and have managed to overcome many obsticles in life. If life was always so good we wouldn't know how to appreciate the good when it does happen. Let's keep our head up high or people like Bin Laden will feel like they have defeated us. We were bound to hit some challenges and this is one of them, with thing going the way they were it was obvious we need to head in a different direction. Let's just all do what we have been taught to do and give things a chance, maybe just maybe we will all be suprised.

Redman Redman, you are right Bush has his finger prints on this mess and he could have done more to help the situation. However don't forget we have had a Democratic controlled Senate and House that make just as many laws, policies as the president. Don't forget their involvement in Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac. I feel this is truly a bipartisan issues. Plenty of blame to share in both camps. And yes the bail outs are a huge concern. I worked for Payless Cashways when they filed Chapter 11. No one bailed them out. Granted they did not employ as many as the auto makers. But I don't think bailing them out will help the country. I feel they need to fail, restructure and fix their problems from within. Just my thoughts. DD
jamaro Report post Posted November 26, 2008 I think Obama nailed it when he said the CEO's were out of touch with American workers and tone deaf. These guys have no clue what the average person goes thru.... It bugs me to no end... J
TAM Report post Posted November 26, 2008 Worried about gun bans, don't. Stock up now or wait for the black market. What worries more than BO and Biden taking my guns is so called sportsman like you that want to stand by and watch it happen! If guns, ammo, brass, primers, powder, and bullets are banned then just how long is my stock pile supposed to last? Black market is an even worse idea. I hope that BO can get us out of our economic mess. I hope the changes he's planning for our country are healthy and I Hope he has more success than Bush had. But it scares me to death what he wants to do with our right to bear arms. Furthermore, it sickens me that hunters and gun owners don't see the threat that BO and Biden pose to our 2nd ammendment rights and are ok to stand by and watch it all get taken away! Reinacting the assult weapons ban, making it permanent. Child proof locks on all guns. No gun shops or manufacturers within 5 miles of a school. Making the manufacturer of assult weapons illegal in the US. 500% federal tax on ammo and components. Making the sale of brass, bullets, primers, and powder illegal. Doing away with concealed carry permits. Making it illegal to carry a gun in your vehicle or person. Allowing gun manufacturers to be sued for guns used in crimes. What did I leave out? Wake up people!

JMP Report post Posted November 26, 2008 i was talking about this with mountaingoat this weekend scouting 33. how did the australians lose their guns? at what point do we stand up and say no. at what point do we resist? how far does it go? how do we communicate a plan, and form a bond of citizens unwilling to give up the right bear arms? seems like it could be a subject that gets real ugly. but what do we do. they can't have my guns or ammo or bow or knives or anything. i looked at the results of the elections, and it really seems to me that more than anything there's a attack on the country/rural/traditional way of life by the growing urbanization and liberalization of the culture in a lot of ways. bailouts and arms bans among them.
