3 bucks down opening morning

Recommended Posts

This year I decided to try my hand at a little mulie hunting. I have hunted coues all my life and wanted to try and score my first floppy ear. As soon as me and my bro and a couple of buddies found out that we were drawn for the nov 24B hunt, the work began. We put in countless trips and hours scouting out where we wanted to be opening morning. The morning started bright and early with a little coffee and finalizing our game plan for the day. It was decided that we would split up in pairs of two and hit two seperate ridges where we had been seeing our bucks. As the morning rolled on me and my buddy hear the crack of two rifles, and know right away that my bro and matt are into them. 10 min later I get a call and my bro tells me they have two and are looking at a nice 2x2 if we want to double back and take him. We decide to cont. down the ridge and an hour later I score on a nice buck. With 3 tags done, we continue working on filling our last tag, and finally do sunday afternoon. Overall it was a great trip for us as we all put a little meat in the freezer. Here are some pics of the 3 we got opening morning.

Congrats on the bucks!

Hunting those big floppy eared dummies is kinda like kicking a puppy though: too easy, not very rewarding, and you feel "dirty" afterwards

Only kidding.

Sorta
