Elk

Recommended Posts

I glassed up this shed while deer hunting last weekend. It was to far to walk to get it, and I didn't want to disturb the area in case there were some big boys hanging around. I had the wrong camera with me, so I couldn't attach it to my digiscoping mount to get a clear picture. David

Tyson, Any other time I probably would have walked down into the canyon to retrieve it, but this year my knee's were giving me alot of trouble during my deer hunt. I think I am finally starting to feel all of my injury's from my younger years. Here is another pic that is a little blurry. I don't know if it was a huge antler, but someday I will head back into there again. There was a huge grove of mesquite trees about 100 away that I am sure holds a ton of WT and elk sheds, plus the trees were just below a water tank. David

David,

I'm sure it was far... I don't get to pick up elk sheds without at least a 3 hour drive on either end, so its always a treat to see them.

It looks like an unbelievable shed! Hard to tell how big though, what did the 5ths look like? The 1-3s look huge for the length of the beam.

I hope its still there waiting for you when you get a chance to go look for it again.

T

ps, maybe the other side is laying in those mesquites!!

pps, don't keep me waiting too long to find out the end of this story!

Way to have your Antler eyes on david, don't worry you're probably not the only one who didn't want to go down there and get it, that's why its still there.
