Manamal Report post Posted January 15, 2005 Actually the law mentioned above is one instated by G&F and should have been scrapped long ago. The interstate commerce law says something to the effect of everyone in USA should have equal right to profit from federal lands, if a state law is not in the way. I think... KGAINES Report post Posted January 15, 2005 I still think we could hire our own lawyer as hunters looking out for our rights. This guy is in it for money, we have alot of people on this forum from out of state that put in on their own hoping they can hunt here every so often, the way I see it now is the self guided non-resident will be the number one victim, all residents will be the other victims, the rich out of state hunters and their guides will benefit. All residents of all western states will suffer, states that have mostly private land will continue to suck. We as a state have a resource that belongs to our state and it is being taken from us, were will it end, azgfd could say since we aren't allowed to manage it as we see fit we are not going to manage it at all, bring on the feds, and let them have control, and that would be the end of states rights. At what point do we need to buy are federal hunting license and put in for any species we want all over the country with the only penalty being where you have to travel to, and no that is not a good thing, a resident of a state should have the benefit of being able to hunt there. fatfootdoc Report post Posted January 17, 2005 I live in NM( no nasty emails guys! ) and I think georgie porgie sucks. This whole thing would not be an issue if it weren't for money for him to pad his wallet with. I love to hunt in AZ for whitetail and this bozo is messing it up for every one. The letter his lawyer just wrote is ridiculous. I agree that some of the price jumps were high, but alot of them will end up being on par with what NM charges nonresidents. Maybe NM should raise all of the nonresident tags as well and that would take the heat off of AZ. The only way to take care of this is to pass the legislation will negate the whole commerce restriction avenue. We need to face it though the guy is a moron and will always find something to sue about. It will be down to him suing AZ because he can't have a special lottery for his own hunters and therefore is having his business restricted. The guy cracks me up, he advertises about his well trained guides and he hires people off of the street with absolutely no training, sure they may have some hunting experience, but that is it. He also had Coues mispelled the last time I checked his website. It is a good thing that NM does not have a season for jackass, he would be the first one tagged I have this strange feeling. ag

JACK Report post Posted January 18, 2005 HAVE ANY OF YOU FELLERS BEEN TO THE USO WEBSITE AND READ THEIR "PHILOSOPHY ON HUNTING" WHY WOULD THE USO EVEN CARE IF AZ RAISES ITS LICENCE AND TAG FEES ARE THEY PAYING FOR THEM? IF SOMEBODY WANTS TO KILL A "TROPHY" THEY ARE PROBABLY WILLING TO PAY FOR IT ANYWAY AND IF THEY THOUGHT IT WAS TO MUCH THEN MABEY THE USO SHOULD LOWER THEIR GUIDING FEES TO MAKE IT AFFORDABLE FOR THEM IF THEY REALLY WANTED TO PROVIDE A "TROPHY BIG GAME HUNTING EXPERIENCE AT A REASONABLE PRICE ....BLAH.....BLAH.....BLAH....TO REALLY LIVE UP TO OUR SLOGAN" I GOT THE UTAH PROCLAMATION TODAY FOR THEIR TROPHY HUNTS AND NON RES. PAY $1500.00 FOR A NON-RES ELK TAG. THAT IS QUITE A BIT MORE THAN THE $371.00 AZ TROPHY TAG SO I BELIVE THE AZG&F HAS ALOT OF ROOM TO RAISE ITS TAG $$$ES. ANYWAY I THINK THE USO WAS MORE CONCERNED WITH ELK AND DEER NORTH OF THE COLORADO AND LAST TIME I CHECKED THERE WERE NOT TO MANY COUES DEER NORTH OF THE COLORADO RIVER AND THEY HAD NO PICTURES OF DEAD ONES ON THEIR SITE SO NO WORRIES FOR US!!
