Newbie2012 Report post Posted January 9, 2023 With the early archery dates, gonna be a lot of guys holding points jumping in. Can’t decide my strategy yet.

Yeah, those are prime dates this year. I’ll be hunting in Wyoming, so likely won’t be putting in for archery.

Will fit perfectly over the fire place 12 points? I have killed 3 AZ bulls in the last 7 years here in AZ. What are you waiting for?

A tag 🤷🏻♂️ All kidding aside it seems a lot of folks apply for elk and once they hit that 6-7 point range the decision has to be made to either go for a “lower tier” archery tag, a limited opportunity tag or a late rifle tag.
SunDevil Report post Posted January 9, 2023 Don’t play the point game. It is a waste of time. Get out and hunt.

I'm thinking 1 or 27 is gonna be my best bet. After that I will only go for late rifle or cow hunts. 27 late or 5bs early are the tags I am looking at. I've hunted 5bs archery before so there is an advantage to that.

With 8, you can find 30-40” on top of your 300” goal pretty easily. Thanks! Archery or late rifle? I've heard late on the 8 is a tough hunt.
