AZantlerhead Report post Posted November 19, 2008 It seems most people who live in other states and even seasoned vetrans in this state are in the dark when it comes too the "Coues Whitetail Deer"!!!!Seriously, here in Show Low most hunters have never seen a coues, and maybe not even heard of them in some cases. Others are thoroughly confused as too the lack of actuall "Coues" referance by the fish and game in regulations and on tags . Yes it's true, some hunters here in this great state think we simply have small, and genetically inferior Eastern whitetails . Seriouslly!!!! no BS. My father "arranged" for my uncle from Sacramento to Draw a tag with him in 31 for mulie. When he arrived and saw my coues in the tree He was intrigued, confused and interested in the small bodied deer that resembled a whitetail version of the columbia blacktails they have in Cali where he's from. Also he needed a lesson on the caliber of buck I had got {Borderline Booner} . So I guess what I'm getting at is this little deer were all Nuttso about is actually little known throughout the vast hunting community and were doing a fine job on this site of raising awareness of the Coues. So bring you're family too Coues country and Coueswhitetail.com .
MidLifeHntr Report post Posted November 19, 2008 I have some friends that were involved in a dispute over a shot deer with the Klumps. Could have turned into a little of the Ole West. I will hunt else where.
