Here's probably a better example of what a bedded buck might look like through binos. Once again this is still from video so obviously looking through binos would be much clearer. I took stills as the deer beds to help show how easily deer can disappear once they lay down.

 

 

As you can see in the last pic bedded deer are pretty hard to see especially when they don't move. This buck actually laid his head down on the ground for about 15 min and took a nap. During this time I could not see him at all. If I didn't already know he was there I would have never found him.

 

Here's another close one I was able to find.

 

 

WOW, Great topic ,and Awesome pics huntaholic, that is just a great series of pics from the deer standing to him bedding frame by frame. You can see how they just disrepair. Great knowledge to have. Just picking up on the little things like an antler in the shadows or the frame of the head. This should remind us of why we love to hunt these Little things. So frustrating but rewarding all at the same time.

This buck was out cold with his head laid down to the side, we thought he was dead and got about 80 yards from him before he got up.
