MidLifeHntr Report post Posted November 10, 2008 Yesterday my Wife and I took the quads out to do some scouting for my end of month Coues hunt. I haven't hunted this unit and havebeen going out every weekend to find a good loction. The ride towards the mountains was good but extremely troublesome. We kept seeing backpacks, piles of clothes and water bottles. By the time we headed back I was thouroughly disgusted and picked up all the trash I could fit on our 250 and 550 quads. THIS WAS WHAT COULD BE SEEN ALONG THE ROAD. My question is, are they going to be any deer in an area where there is obviously a ton of foot traffic? Also if anybody in Southern AZ is interested I would be glad to organize a weekend clean up and BBQ. This is unit 34B.
anthonyrmatthews Report post Posted November 10, 2008 Thanks for being a good samaritan and picking up the trash. I would bet that there are still plenty of deer in there. Where I hunt in 36C there were plenty (too many for me) illegals and drug smugglers, but also lots of deer. Good luck to ya!
CouesWhitetail Report post Posted November 10, 2008 A group called Hunters Who Care has been organizing cleanups for years. You might contact the main coordinater, Lance and see what help he can offer if you want to do a cleanup. MidLifeHntr Report post Posted November 10, 2008 Thanks Amanda. I have contacted him. I hate seeing our desert areas treated like a third world nation.
