The chapter is donating a rifle as the grand prize for the raffle. Arizona Chapter board members that are participating in the clean up are Tod Molesworth, Shane Stanley, Dave Dukat, Warner Smith and Gabe Paz, along with other members of the chapter. If you would like to volunteer, contact Officer Gabriel Paz (AZGFD) 520-388-4443 or gpaz@azgfd.gov. The clean up is December 6th and 7th, 2008, and will start at 8:00 AM. Lunch will be at Base Camp from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. Please RSVP so enough food is provided. Volunteers should arrive at Base Camp off of the Batamote Road on the Marley Ranch. Mile post 17.6 off of the Arivaca Road. N 31º43.655, W 111º09.588. Take 1-19 South to Arivaca Junction (Amado) and exit west. Take the Arivaca Road to Mile Post 17.6 and go right (Northwest) 8 tenths of a mile to the Camp. Trash Bags and Dumpsters will be available at the campsite. Great opportunity to get outdoors in Coues country for a good cause. Also there is 29 spots for the Jim Shockey Golf tournament at Loews Ventana Canyon. It is $350 a person, you get a free $300 rangefinder, a round of golf and dinner, what a deal. The event benefits SCI Education programs and takes place Jan 31, 2009. WHEN: December 6th and 7th, 2008, 8:00 AM start. Lunch will be at Base Camp from 11am-1pm. Please RSVP so we can provide enough food. WHO: Hunters Who Care Volunteers and any other dedicated outdoorsman who want to clean up our desert. AZ Chapter of Safari Club International will be donating a rifle as the grand prize raffle item. WHAT: Our goal for this clean up is to pick up trash on 3 ranches in Game Management Units 36A, B & C: the Marley Ranch, the Rancho Seco, and the Sopori Ranch (off of Chavez Siding). However, we are not limited to those areas and volunteers can clean up wherever they like. WHERE: The Hunters Who Care Camp will be off of the Batamote Road on the Marley Ranch. cmc Report post Posted December 6, 2008 Great turnout today at the cleanup.... Thanks to everyone that showed up. Nice to see ya again Tyler (EH) and good to meet ya Stanley. The group will still be down there tomorrow with raffle prizes to give away and I hope some of you that were successful in taking some deer out of that area return to help the wildlife and habitat, they sure need the help!!!
