COOSEFAN Report post Posted November 2, 2008 Howdy all, I've been hoping to see more success pics and stories from the 35's but there really hasn't been much. Who all hunted down there and what was your thoughts about the water, grass, heat and pressure where you hunted? With the scouting I have done so far, I am concerned with the obsticles that i can foresee for this next hunt....definitely have my work cut out for me it seems! The grass in the area I plan to hunt is unbelievably tall and thick, there is water in dang near every canyon and very little is hitting the numerous water sources in the area. Not interested in locations, just general info on success and thoughts from those who have hunted there this year! Thanks, JIM>

wklman Report post Posted November 2, 2008 my 10 year old nephew shot a 90" class 3x3 buck opening morning with my brother in 35a. I was in a different unit hunting and the grass is way high down in them southern units along with lots of water in the canyon bottoms. with all the water around it looks like the deer have dispersed more as well. wade
bchoitz Report post Posted November 2, 2008 Haven't been down yet, still focused on the other hunts for this year. After the jr hunt in 12A I'll turn my focus to 35B for December. Sounds like you know the answer already. The known sources are not being used due to the water available in more secluded areas. Look for those spots, Canyons with rocky pools in the bottom etc. Good luck.

JACK Report post Posted November 3, 2008 Headed down Thursday...haven't been down there since Aug. but things looked great to me feed and water everywhere!Should make for a less stressed healhty herd! IMO these deer are creatures of habit and even though they have more opptions now they should be in the same general areas. Good Luck!
