Español A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her or her own state or to a licensee in any state. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm or ammunition, prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm and requires obtaining written acknowledgement of receipt. Boarman03 Report post Posted September 10, 2022 I made the same mistake as dsotom once. His heart was probably in the right place. Rules by ATF are confusing at best, and subject to change. These discussions are helpful and part of the purpose of this board. Good luck and best wishes with the sale. Great actions.
azsugarbear Report post Posted September 10, 2022 It was difficult to know what he was worried about. My first thought was about mailing an action directly to a resident. Then I thought it might have been my statement that I was willing to sell to 'anyone' such as underaged or prohibited fellon (which I would never do). Sometimes comments like these leave you guessing. At any rate, no harm - no foul.
