That's the key right there................Hunters are not thieves, and thieves are not hunters! Pond scum would be a better description!

At the very least could you please post a personal and vehicle description, so the rest of us can keep an eye out for these a**holes. I'm glad you were there. Those blinds are not cheap. Hopefully it didn't ruin your hunt too bad.

I was on a javalina hunt in unit 28, and saw a couple guys cross the border and shoot a pig. They came back to my camp gloating about the pig they just shot. I asked where, and they pointed to a hill that was clearly on the other side of the border. Real shady people. I wish I would have written down there plate numbers and turned them in. You can't trust anyone these days.

You should of just stuck the barrel of your rifle out of the window of the blind when they got close, then start couting backwards from 5

5....4.....3.....2...click off the safety...1.

....ALSO I HAVE HEARD THAT THESE TWO GUY HUNT ALONG THE AZ -NM AND CROSS IN TO NM WITH JUST THERE AZ TAG THEY ARE VERY SHADY....

Is that really necessary? I've heard a lot of things and I've jumped to the wrong conclusions too many times.

...I WAS OFF THE ROAD ABOUT 200 YARDS ...

Not to be critical, but...

Get farther off the road! If they can't see it from the road they probably won't be driving past and coming back... For whatever reason.

It is possible they wondered what the heck was going on with a blind set up so close to the road and just came to investigate.

Bummer about the stuff that was stolen, but it's also possible you are thinking the worst of everyone based on this past loss.

Just my .02 worth.

This is not the reaction of someone wanting to chat or investigate. Thed could have at least said sorry just wondering what this was.

That's the problem with this world a guy almost get's his stuff taken and someone has to rationalize a reason and make it his fault. It doesn't matter where it is in sight of a road or not if it doesn't belong to you leave it alone.

Huh?

My point was that he ASSUMED they came to steal his stuff, and the very first interaction he had with them was confrontational and apparently accusatory, and was based on his previously stolen equipment. Based on his own account of the incident, he left no hope that the encounter would be anything but negative. The encounter obviously soured his hunting trip for that day, if not for the whole weekend. I offered a suggestion to avoid having that happen in the future.

I get enough negative interactions in my everyday life. I'd just as soon avoid the stress and anger that comes with those moments when I'm out hunting with the objective to "relax" and "enjoy" my hunt.

It also doesn't matter if the keys are in the ignition or not, it's still not OK to steal my car........

And this from someone who drives a rag-top jeep and camps in a tent close to a road while hunting.
