Anyone want to foster/adopt a Dane puppy?

Recommended Posts

So:

Ex-wife volunteers and does tremendous work with a local canine rescue (the big mut network).

Last weekend a foster for Ender, a 12 week old male great dane went out of town, so I volunteered to take him for the weekend.

For whatever reason, his original foster isn't taking him back.

I get my Airedale pup on Saturday. Too many dogs in the house

Hes a great pup. Very sweet, doesn't ask to go outside, but pees/poops as long as he's let out.

Perfectly fine in a kennel over night.

Great Danes in general, have a fairly significantly shorter life span than the average dog.

He's coming over to my place in north Phoenix this weekend to be fostered, stop by if you guys want to meet the dog and put in an app to adopt. I'll be happy to arrange meet n greets with the pup

Yeah. 6-10 years though some live a little longer.

8 years on avg due to heart issues

I've had several and most were put down due to hip dispaisyia "sic". One lived till 12 and she was dumber than a a box of rocks.

The larger the dog, the greater the issues, typically. Hip dysplasia is very common, Great Danes,  Dobermans, German Shepherds, Irish Setters, etc.

Still, 8 to 12 years is a lot of years of love and fun!

" Who wants to live forever?"
