DesertBull Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Deer can get food anywhere on the mountain, but they can only get water in a very few places. Is sitting over water hunting? To each his own.

Guest 300ultramag. Report post Posted October 31, 2008 try it first... ive sat in a tree stand for 30+ days with ZERO activity. I hate these guys that think its a slam dunk if u throw food on the ground.. go buy a lone wolf treestand and a cuddeback camera sit in it for 5 days straight (sun up to sun down) and when you dont see anything and want to take your equipment back call me ill buy it off you... Every buck ive killed i found behind glass... ive opted to try a new method for the last 4 seasons and i have yet to kill a coues the EASY way.
trophyhunter Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Of course it's hunting. It is by far the most challenging and most mental and physical form of hunting. Try sitting in a stand or blind for days on end and not even see a squirl. It takes a lot of hard work to put up stand or blind in a good area that you have found deer sign. Walking and glassing is so much easier and most of the time a lot more exciting (not boring). All because your sitting doesn't mean it's easy.

bchoitz Report post Posted November 1, 2008 If it's legal it's hunting. If it's not fun or enjoyable for you, Don't do it. Baiting is illegal in Arizona as far as I am aware. Sitting over water is not, and that is pretty common here. That is not where I am likely to be found, but I won't fault you for doing it, and I won't get upset if your sitting on the water hole that is being used by the animals in the are I'm hunting. Do what's legal and what you are comfortable with. Have fun, and I hope to see you in the field. I'll say hi and ask how it's going for you. If your sittin' in a blind, that's good for me 'cause I'll know where you are and I can avoid that area while I'm out hunting. Bret
