cpugsie Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Here's a few pics from our hunt this past week. My friend Steve and I hunted 23 and my son hunted 24b. We took turns going from one side of the lake to the other so we could both hunt. My son passed on a small buck and didn't end up shooting one. He still went home happy to just be out there with his dad. It was a hard hunt for Steve and I. Steve didn't see a buck for the 4 days he hunted and it took me 5 days to find a buck. We were hunting hard for a monster I saw earlier in the year with no luck. We had a couple days where we didn't see any deer at all. Ti was terribly hot with deer only moving a couple hours in the morning and less than a hour at night. At least where we were hunting. I finally hooked up with some other friends Ron and Jason that helped me get the buck pictured here. I stalked up the mountain to an adjacent finger to within 75 yards and ended my hunt just as the buck got up to get himself out of the sun. Ron and Jason watched the whole thing unfold through their binoculars and spotting scope. I think they had as much fun watching as I did shooting. The rack that Steve found scored 99-5/8ths. Nice find! We also had fun watching several Tarantulas! Can't wait to get out there again in January! That's my son Corey holding the gate opened. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Found some bucks when i scouted, but just does to be seen on the hunt!!! I've talked to alot of guys with this tag and no one killed. Congrats and nice buck!!! I saw bucks everyday right before the sun cracked over the horizon, My brother and I missed a couple of 85/90ish bucks at 500+ at daylight looking into the sun.
