Photo of Your Very First Coues

I had never hunted deer in Arizona before.  I asked my friend how big Coues deer were.  He said if you can see antlers, it's a good one.  This was about 1985 near Geronimo's Surrender Site.

Christmas morning in 90 I think. I thought it was big. I hunted every x/mas day after that for a long time.

Here’s my first coues. Shot in 2003 in unit 32. I wish we would have known how to hunt coues like we do now. We used to just walk around until we jumped one up. I remember we thought that the bigger one my brother killed was huge!

A friend of mine named Mike. He works out of his house in mesa. Superstition Creations located at Broadway and Val Vista. He has done several different mounts for me. Her are a few pictures I've taken.

That's funny. I look back at myself and laugh cuz when I started you could still kill a doe and I couldn't even get that done (archery).  When I killed my first big buck (before glassing) I'd never even laid eyes on one that big and I just couldn't believe it happened. I knew they existed, never expected to see or kill a really good one.

Incredible buck - first or best! I'm also amazed but not surprised that your camera equipment and/or photography at the time was decades ahead of every one else.
