bowsniper Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Has anybody considered what might happen if McCain does win? There are going to be a whole lot of angry people out there (LA riots). For that matter, what if osama wins? There have been a lot situations (sporting events, etc.) where celebrations get violent. (Detroit, etc) Something to think about for November 5th. stanley Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Good question Mark! Not sure what will happen either way.... In the latest Chris Rock routine, he has a pretty funny bit about Obama winning. Something to the effect of; 'If you have any meeting, work, ANYTHING scheduled with a black person the day after the election, plan on it NOT happening if Obama wins!'. 'No black people will be getting anything done the day after the election if he wins!'. The bit goes on & on on that theme, and it's pretty funny. Chris Rock is hilarious!! All in good fun, but I suspect he might be right. There will be celebrating BIG time in some areas! LOL S.

scoutm Report post Posted October 29, 2008 Personally, I don't want to have to think about it. I will be heading out to setup camp on the 5th. Then a week without having to hear anything about it. Hopefully by the time I return everything will have settled down.
.270 Report post Posted October 29, 2008 who cares? obama won't be the president and right now that is all that matters. i really think that when it comes time to go in the booth, Americans are gonna do the right thing and vote Mccain/Palin. i really do. i think the media and pollsters have been hedging trying to sway things for osama, i mean obama's way and that when it comes down to it, the good guys are gonna win. if they don't, well, i don't even wanna think about that. The only right choice he EVER made was not picking Hiltery for VP. He would not have made it 6 months. Just a quick edit. ruffcountry Report post Posted October 30, 2008 I think (pray) your're right Lark . The polls are getting closer , just look back at the predictions for past elections . The media always predicted way higher for the dems than it turned out . If the pollsters are saying 2 pts ahead for maobama then that probaly means mccain's ahead by 1 pt. Dont know what the reaction to chairman maobamas 30 minute infomercial will be , I didnt watch it .

.270 Report post Posted October 30, 2008 i don't like obama. i pray every day that he won't get elected. but if he does, he will still be our president. all this talk about assasination and stuff doesn't do any of us any good. whoever gets elected will do their full term. American military intellingence, at least since Bush has allowed all the different groups to exchange notes, is incredible. if something does happen it will be because whoever the president is puts the walls back up that prohibit different intelliegence agencies from talking to each other. like clinton did that led to 9/11. the amount spent on protecting the president is arbitrary. it doesn't matter. what matters is that they protect him. he scares me to death, but there are enough checks and balances in place in our gov't to overcome whatever he might do. again, the president can't make the bills. he can sign them or veto them. he can influence them, but he can't do much more than that. where our real problem is is in the house and senate. and i don't think the bunch idiots the dumbocrats have elected can get anything done. and them doing nothing is a good thing. actually, where our real problem is is in our education system that has quit teaching civics, gov't, geography, etc. the last 20 years has produced nothing but a bunch of kids that do not know anything what so ever about gov't, except what they see in a movie from hollywood. history has been rewritten. the real good guys are now the bad guys, or they don't even exist in the minds of folks because they know nothing about them. this is a sad time in our history, where half of the country have no clue what so ever what is truth and what isn't. but all this talk about obama gettin' killed doesn't do anyone any good. the office should always be bigger than the person holding it.
