Saguaro Report post Posted August 7, 2022 They’re one of the few animals I don’t shoot. I don’t have a problem with those that do, it’s just not for me for some reason.
HuntHarder Report post Posted August 7, 2022 It's because they smell like nothing else in this world. I have been unlucky enough to kill 2 of them. Both of them were some of the most rank smelling critters I have ever skinned. I am thinking they drink their own piss mixed with vinegar.
AZbowhntr Report post Posted August 8, 2022 Had a buddy in Idaho get chased by one while out irrigating. The thing chased him down the ditch bank and was actually catching him. He finally stopped, whirled around and whacked it over the head with a shovel. It didn't even kill the thing. But he was able to get away. I have shot one several years ago and it was hands down the smelliest animal I have ever been around.
Sparks Report post Posted August 8, 2022 This reminds me of something I read in a book on cowboy wisdom that stuck with me. " Never rope a badger because they don't drag to death and don't give your rope back when you're done messing with them."
