Snapshot Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Well so far I have missed most of my Unit 27 whitetail hunt as the economy and lack of projects forced me to take a full time job that I could not pass up. Up until today we have been working 58 hours a week. But my supervisor knew that I wanted to go hunting, and things slowed down at work for a couple days until more product arrived, so he asked me if I wanted to take the next 3 days off. I don't have to tell you what my answer was. So I stopped for groceries on the way home from work since I only worked half a day and I am loading up the truck for a hectic last 2 days of the hunt, I am leaving at 1:00 a.m to be at the trailhead by sunrise. No fancy camp, just a spartan camp out of my truck. Hopefully I will have a story and some pictures when I return, but 2 days is better than none.

Non-Typical Solutions Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Good luck Snap.....let me know what the elk look like over there, we are headed that way for the late hunt. Snap brings up an interesting point that just about sunk my ship this year. We been checking southern units for the last couple of years but the price of living and paying for gas....we almost didn't go. Buying the tags is one thing, paying for the trip is getting pretty dang expensive. Gonna have to start hunting closer to home.......

I am a self employed cabinetmaker and available projects came to a screeching halt. I was offered a very well paying job 2 1/2 weeks before the hunt started, so I had a choice to pass it up and go hunting or take a job that may lead to good things and miss my hunt instead. Snapshot Report post Posted October 28, 2008 Hope you get to stress test that moose bag. Knock em dead--- literally RR The moose bag fits the frame well that I have used for packing out meat. I appreciate the good deal, as I have always meant to get one, just never did, the rifle hanger is a bonus as well.
